At Hannah’s Southern Paws Rescue, every life we save is a testament to love, kindness, and second chances. This rescue isn’t just about saving dogs—it’s a ministry, a calling, and a way to honor the values instilled in me from childhood.
Growing up, my daddy was a Sunday school teacher who along with my Mama and Granny, taught me about the love of Jesus. He showed me what it meant to live a life of compassion, to serve others, and to extend grace whenever possible. His faith was unwavering, and through his lessons, I learned that love isn’t just something we talk about—it’s something we live. In his honor, this rescue is my ministry.
I believe that God placed these fur babies on earth to remind us of His love and kindness. Dogs embody so many of the qualities we strive for—unconditional love, forgiveness, loyalty, and a pure heart. Through this rescue, I feel called to be their voice, to ensure they know they are loved, and to help them find the families they were meant to be with.
Our Mission & Impact
While Hannah’s Southern Paws Rescue officially became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in January 2023, my journey in animal rescue started long before then. Over the years, I’ve served in various roles—vet receptionist, vet technician, shelter worker—and all of those experiences led me here. Since our inception, we have saved over 300 dogs, providing them with the medical care, rehabilitation, and love they need to find their forever homes.
As an all-breed rescue based in Dallas, Texas, we welcome dogs of all ages and backgrounds. To maximize their chances of finding the perfect home, we adopt both locally and out of state. Every dog that enters our care receives:
-Vaccinations
-Microchipping
-Spay or neuter procedures
-Heartworm testing & treatment if necessary
-Monthly flea/tick & heartworm prevention
-Any additional medical care recommended by our vet
Many of our rescues come from heartbreaking situations—abandoned, surrendered, neglected, homeless, or struggling with medical conditions. No matter their past, we believe they deserve a future filled with love and care.
Because we are a foster-based rescue, we don’t have a physical facility. Instead, our amazing network of foster families provides a safe, loving environment for these dogs until they find their forever homes. We provide all food, supplies, and medical care, while our fosters provide the love, socialization, and stability these dogs need.
Beyond Our Own Rescue: Helping Shelter Dogs
While we work tirelessly to save the dogs in our own rescue program, we never forget about the ones still waiting in shelters. Every day, countless dogs sit in shelters—often overwhelmed, scared, and at risk of euthanasia due to overcrowding.
That’s why we dedicate countless hours networking shelter dogs, advocating for them, and helping to find them homes. In addition, we bring shelter dogs to our adoption events, giving them a break from the stress of the shelter environment and increasing their chances of being seen by potential adopters.
We believe it is imperative to support our local shelters, because we are all fighting for the same mission: to save lives. Rescue groups and shelters must work together to give every dog the best chance possible at finding their forever family.
Why Events Matter
Events are at the heart of our rescue efforts. They help us raise awareness, connect with the community, and find loving homes for our dogs. Most importantly, they allow people like you to be part of this mission. Every event we host plays a crucial role in our success, whether it’s by fundraising, spreading the word, or helping a dog find their perfect family.
Your support makes all the difference. If you feel called to help save lives, visit our Donate, Foster or Volunteer page to learn more about how you can get involved. Whether it’s fostering, donating, or attending an event, you can be the miracle these dogs are waiting for.
Together, we can change lives—one dog at a time!
